How it works
Snip, and it is already there
Windows is live today. Android and iOS take a different shape per platform.
On Windows
In Chrome, Brave or Edge, on any website
Hover any text box — a snip button appears.
Click to snip, or Alt+Shift+S. Hover for prompts: Explain, Answer, Summarise.
Windows overlay takes over — drag over anything, even a second monitor.
Release. Image + prompt are already in the box. Press Enter.
Works in: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Perplexity — any text box. Esc to cancel.
On Android
Coming soon
Every app, including Chrome
Tap Start bubble once.
Tap bubble → screen freezes → drag a region.
Snip pastes into the focused field.
Will work in: any app — Chrome, standalone apps, WhatsApp, email.
On iOS
Coming soon
Any app you can type in
Add SnipPaste keyboard in Settings → General → Keyboard.
Screenshot & crop the usual way.
Switch to SnipPaste keyboard → tap snip to paste.
Why a keyboard: iOS forbids floating bubbles — keyboard is the only insertion point.
Demo — Windowssnip any app → auto paste▶ Real recording
Recorded on Windows 11 — Chrome extension + desktop helper. No edits, no cuts. Drag → release → pasted.

Everything you wanted to know before installing.
I am just too poor to get a $5 Chrome Webstore Publisher Account. Please donate so that I can publish this on the Chrome Webstore as a chrome extension.
No, not yet. Windows is live today. Android (floating bubble) and iOS (custom keyboard) are in development.
Yes.
Not at all. Everything happens locally. The PNG goes from the OS clipboard straight into your text box — no network call, no server.

Install on Windows
Two steps, both one-time
Not on the Web Store — loads as unpacked. No admin rights.
1 · Load the extension
Chrome or Edge — identical
Unzip somewhere you’ll keep it.
Go to chrome://extensions (Brave: brave://extensions, Edge: edge://extensions).
Turn on Developer mode (top-right).
Load unpacked → pick the snippaste folder.
Pin it from the puzzle menu.
Keep Developer mode on.
2 · Install the helper
Opens the Windows snip overlay
Open native folder.
Right-click install.ps1 → Run with PowerShell.
It compiles & registers for Chrome/Edge.
Restart Chrome completely.
Green dot + Desktop helper ready = done.
Skip? Button still works — page-only. Remove via native\uninstall.ps1.
Before you install
Worth knowing
Nothing leaves your machine. No network code. Snips go screen → text box.
Compiled on your PC from C# via the .NET compiler already in Windows — no binary download.
Needs Snipping Tool via ms-screenclip: — ships with every Windows 10 (1809+) & 11.
Android & iOS not yet live. Only Windows download works today.
